Apple iPhone 12 Mini was launched alongside the iPhone 12 and the higher-end iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max flagships in October 2020. All these fourteenth-generation flagship iPhones are the first models by Apple that do not come with a power adapter and EarPods. 

IP68 Rating

iPhone 12 Mini comes with IP68 water and dust-resistant rating and can survive in six meters of water for up to 30 minutes. However, the resistance to liquid damage reduces over time. One important thing to note here is that Apple's warranty does not cover liquid damages to the phone so one needs to be careful with water and liquid splashes.

Design & Display

Apple iPhone 12 Mini comes with a 5.4 inches Super Retina XDR OLED display that has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The phone has a beautifully curved design with rounded corners that increase the phone's ergonomics and gives the user a comfortable grip. This design makes it easy for the user to hold and pick up the device from a flat surface. The compact phone displays a notch in the front that houses the TrueDepth Camera, speaker, and microphone. iPhone 12 Mini also comes with slim bezels that make the screen more visible. It uses the Ceramic Shield front glass and has the same Dual-Ion Exchange strengthened glass on the rear as the previous flagship. 

Processor & Memory

There is a six-core A14 Bionic processor by Apple in the iPhone 12 Mini. The processor also comes with a next-generation neural engine. There are three internal storage options on the phone; 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB. It comes with 5G support, has 4GB of RAM and runs on iOS 14.

Cameras 

iPhone 12 Mini houses two cameras on the rear with 12 MP main wide shooter laced with optical image stabilization, phase detection autofocus and Dolby Vision HDR processing. There is also a second 12 MP ultra-wide camera on the rear. You can shoot stunning 4K videos with up to 60 frames per second. Apple iPhone 12 Mini has received great reviews for its great photography results as the cameras are said to capture plenty of detail and light, giving amazing results. Low light photography is also great with this mobile. There is another set of dual cameras on the front, with the 12 MP main selfie camera and an SL 3D biometrics sensor. The selfie camera takes decent selfies. 

Battery & Charging

Apple iPhone 12 Mini has a 2227 mAh battery and supports fast battery charging that is done through USB Power Delivery. Though it comes without a charger, you can buy Apple's 20W PD charger or a USB-PD compatible adapter. For wireless charging, the phone is bundled with a magnetic charger called MagSafe that makes wireless charging a breeze. These were on all MacBooks until Apple decided to discontinue them in 2017.
