The phone features wide colour gamut, 3D Touch, home button and True-tone display. The True Tone display uses an advanced four‑channel ambient light sensor that efficiently adjusts the white balance of the screen according to the colour temperature of the ambient light. This feature was added to reduce eye strain and to make the display look as natural as possible. Apple claims this phone to feature a larger and faster sensor, a new colour filter, deeper pixels and an image signal processor that allows for faster autofocus in low light and better HDR photos.

Display & Design

The phone supports a full glass body. Protected by the Ion-strengthened Sapphire crystal glass and oleo-phobic coating, the 4.7 inches LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. Colour options to choose from are Silver, Space Gray, and Gold. The phone is IP67 rated for water and dust resistance and can be submerged in 1-meter deep water for up to 30 minutes.

Performance, Platform & RAM

Possessing a 2GB of RAM, the phone runs on iOS 11 operating system. It is powered by a Hexa-core Apple A11 Bionic processor. It has six cores, out of which four are efficient ones that are up to 70% faster than the previous models and two are performance cores that are up to 25% faster. It is important to note that the A11 Bionic chipset is powerful enough to run all six cores at the same time and is fully capable of multi-tasking.

Cameras

The Apple iPhone 8 packs a 12-megapixel primary camera on the rear with an aperture of f/1.8. The rear camera provides autofocus, OIS, Quad-LED + dual-tone flash and optical image stabilization for photos and videos. It supports phase detection, 1/3" sensor size and Geo-tagging. The camera is capable of shooting high-quality 4K videos with simultaneous 8MP image recording, touch focus, face/smile detection and HDR (photo/panorama).

You will find a 7-megapixel camera on the front for selfies with an aperture of f/2.2 that is capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. The selfie camera features face detection, panorama mode and high dynamic range.

Storage & Battery

Powered by a 1,821mAh non-removable battery, the talk time may reach up to 14 hours and music play may be up to 40 hours approximately. The phone supports fast battery charging reaching up to 50% in 30 minutes. Designed for the future of wireless, the phone also supports Qi-enabled wireless charging. 

Apple iPhone 8 packs an inbuilt non-expandable storage of 64 GB / 256 GB and is a single SIM (GSM) smartphone that supports a Nano-SIM card. 

Connectivity & Sensors
