The X is the predecessor to Apple's twelfth generation flagships; the high priced iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max and the lower end iPhone XR, The iPhone X was the most talked-about phone of 2017 and Apple dubbed it as the "Future of the Smartphones". 

What's New

Unlike the previous versions of the iPhone, the iPhone X comes without known and famous elements like the Touch ID fingerprint scanner and the home button, instead, it features new methods of navigation and unlocking the phone. Apple has ditched the headphone jack on the new iPhone range for AirPods. Rimmed in a gorgeous and strong stainless steel and its back made of glass, the phone looks more sophisticated and polished as compared to the previous aluminium rimmed phones by Apple.

Display & Design

iPhone X supports a 5.8-inch 2436 x 1125 pixels OLED screen with an edge-to-edge display and Face ID. The phone also features HDR support for providing more colours and sharper contrast in movies. Apple added TrueTone for automatically adjusting the white balance of the screen according to the ambient lighting, making reading comfortable and easier on your precious eyes. The new display on the phone supports the HDR playback.

Performance, Platform & RAM

This smartphone is capable of playing movies encoded in the HDR10 and Dolby Vision formats and paired with the OLED display the results are richer and realistic colour reproduction. The phone has been optimized for gaming and movie watching. For users with a penchant for AR gaming, the iPhone X's screen is a top choice. Based on the iOS 11 operating system and the A11 Bionic chip running in tandem with 3GB of RAM, the phone is powerful enough to handle multiple apps in the background.

Cameras

7-megapixel TrueDepth front camera lets you take Portrait Mode photos and apply Portrait Lighting effects to them for more natural-looking pictures. Another impressive feature is the Animoji that is a sheer accuracy of the facial mapping. It allows you to take fun pictures of yourself in the selfie mode.

On the back of the phone, there is a dual 12MP sensor array. An f/2.4 aperture and optical image stabilization on the zoom lens ensure better low-light photos. The phone uses the wide-angle lens for low light pictures and digital zoom to get perfect looking snaps. iPhone X has awesome video capabilities with 4K recording at 60 frames per second producing a clear and fluid result.

Storage & Battery

The phone comes with 64GB/256GB of internal storage. With a 2,716mAh battery, its endurance is quite impressive as continuous web surfing over LTE, the phone can last up to 10 hours and 49 minutes. This runtime is over an hour longer than average. The iPhone X is capable of getting to 50% charge in 30 minutes with a Lightning cable. 

Apple has worked really hard on packing both power and efficiency in this phone. The A11 Fusion chip with multiple efficient cores and a 10nm manufacturing process inside the iPhone X is one of the reasons for the improvement in battery life. The phone also supports Qi wireless charging.
