Canon Eos 700d

If you already have the forerunner Canon 650D and are looking to upgrade, you can ignore the 700D as there aren't many updates or improvements introduced in this model. However, Canon 750D and Canon 800D are much better investments as they feature 3 to 4 years of technical progress since the launch of 650D. Go for the 700D only if you are a new photographer who wants a good beginner level camera.

Performance

Delivering great video quality, the EOS 700D can be termed as a good entry-level camera, though its autofocus system could have been better. Design & Build

A major downer is that the 700D is neither weather-sealed nor has an image stabilization system.

EOS 700D features an articulated 3-inch touchscreen on the rear that swivels and tilts for convenient shooting from various perspectives. For a more user-friendly experience, Canon decided to add a touch screen in this model, so it gets pretty easy to focus, shoot or navigate with just a tap. It has the hybrid autofocus system for using in live view or video modes. The viewfinder has 95% frame coverage with 0.85x magnification. While using the viewfinder, the camera features a nine-point, all-cross type phase-detection system.

EOS 700D uses an 18 megapixel 22.3 x 14.9 mm Hybrid CMOS AF sensor, capable of shooting 18-megapixel photos and Full-HD videos. The Canon EOS 700D caters to the needs of both videographers and photographers who are fond of fine detail and high-quality results. The camera is capable of capturing minute detail and producing high-quality results. The Handheld Night Scene Mode lets you shoot correctly exposed images in all lighting conditions. With this camera, users can shoot pictures at the maximum resolution of 5184 x 3456 pixels and videos at 1920x1080 pixels.

Processor 

EOS 700D uses the DIGIC 5 image processor with 14-bit processing that promises a respectable level of performance. It lets you shoot at a maximum ISO sensitivity of 12,800 and allows you do to lens-specific corrections for chromatic aberration and vignetting in the camera's JPEG processing. EOS 700D's shutter count is 100000 actuations.

Storage & Battery

Canon EOS 700D battery lasts for 440 images on a single charge. The camera uses SD/SDHC/SDXC cards for storing data and features Canon LP-E8 rechargeable battery pack.

Connectivity Features

Canon 700D doesn't feature WIFI or Bluetooth connectivity but photographers can use Wireless Tethering systems such as Camranger to connect it to smartphones or tablets. You can also use wireless-enabled SD cards with 700D.
