Dunhill Icon Racing

The modern Dunhill brand was created when Alfred Dunhill inherited his father's saddle business. At this point, cars were just becoming all the rage as a wonder of advancement; and Dunhill was positioned to enter into this market with its accessories. In later years Dunhill added fragrances to their repertoire. Most of their items are made to cater to men; with only one scent for women among the collection.

With fresh top notes that bring in the aromatics, Dunhill Icon Racing has grapefruit, bergamot and cardamom. These are followed by orange blossom, lavender and pepper as the heart notes. The base notes are musk, guaiac wood and vetiver; these give it warmth and a smokey feel. The hint of spice from cardamom and pepper also adds a great layer to the overall scent.

Dunhill Icon Racing is a good choice if one wants a musky scent but that is not all about the musk, the wood notes are there as an anchor; the upper layers give it multiple tones of complexity in scent.

This is a relatively affordable cologne but is a quality choice. The staying power is ample and would make a good everyday scent. It was designed by Laurent Le Guernec, who has worked with many other brands; including Guess, Kenneth Cole, Banana Republic, Marc Jacobs, Liz Claiborne, Calvin Klein and more.
