The Gillette brand

A name that goes hand in hand with shaving, Gillette is known for its safety razors and other personal care products for men and a few for women. The brand started in 1901, it is often credited with being the first to sell cheaper handles and have blades available separately but this is not true. It did, however, become the most successful such brand.

Today Gillette is owned by Procter & Gamble, the conglomerate behind many such commercially known care items in the world.

The Gillette product range

The most well-known products from Gillette are their various razors, the most commonly used ones include the Mach 3 and Blue 3. To aid their line of razors the brand also produces shaving creams and foams, along with aftershave. The aftershave is generally in the form of a balm but some are the aftershave splash. The brand also produces its Gillette shaving kits that have a combination of all the products needed to shave.

The more high-end razor line is their Fusion series. These razors have more blades and also have better lubra-strips. There is also a model that has a vibration mechanism to help shave easier by reducing friction. For women, Gillette has more slim and sleek razors under the Venus label.
