Started by David B. Shakarian as a  small health foods store in 1935. It was in the 1960s that the name General Nutrition Centers (GNC) came about, by this point there were a number of outlets. Today GNC still sells health and nutrition-related products. GNC's catalogue includes all kinds of health-related products, all geared to optimise the mind and body. A complete range of products that include minerals, herbs, supplements and vitamins.

GNC Mega Men

GNC created some tailored supplements for men under the Mega Men line, the main ingredients are vitamins and can have up to 30 of them packed in each pill. The focus is on antioxidants, heart health and immunity. Heart health due to the fact that heart-related disease is more prevalent in men. With additions that are also good for the prostate, a part of the male anatomy that does not age well.

GNC Mega Men has a few variants. There are versions that are specifically for sport, energy & metabolism, whole body and 50 plus which is for men over the age of 50. These versions have slight differences in percentages and the extra additions such as selenium, ginkgo biloba, L-arginine, fish oil and more. The variations in mix have slightly different effects on the body due to the tailoring.
