Honor is part of the dual-brand strategy from Huawei, it caters to a younger demographic with edgier, funky designs. This is one of the affordable brands in the market with many options to choose from.

Honor 10 Lite 

Released at the beginning of 2019, the Honor 10 Lite is another offering from the brand that is known for making more nominally priced phones. This makes it easier for the younger generations to afford this smartphone. Built with an octa-core processor, the Hisilicon Kirin 710 (12 nm) which is developed by Huawei. The internal storage is of 64GB and the RAM chip is a 3GB one. Storage has the option for expansion via a microSD card, up to 256GB more. This would take care of one's space issues. 

OS and display

Based on the Android platform and running Android 9 Pie, which has machine learning abilities. This allows the phone to learn a user's patterns and optimise its self accordingly. The user interface is their own skin layer on top of Android, known as EMUI 9.0. Having this layered on lets users have some extra customisation options that are not there in the simple version of Android. The screen size comes to 6.2 inches. A full HD display at 1080 x 2340pixels, bringing the pixel density to 416ppi. 

Cameras

Built with a dual-lens main camera system. The primary on the Honor 10 Lite is a 13MP lens, with a 2MP depth sensor. The camera app has multiple modes including ISO, Phase detection, Auto Flash, Face detection, Touch to focus, Panorama, HDR. For the selfie shooter, they have given it a 24MP lens, with an aperture of f/2.0. HiVision, the AI feature that has been used in some Huawei phones is also available but is limited to identifying objects, translating text, and scanning QR codes. The camera is average, with low-quality edge detection in portrait mode.

Connectivity, sensors and battery

The Honor 10 Lite has WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and a microUSB port as the options for connectivity. Also with the USB On-the-Go feature, allowing it to perform as a USB host and read devices like a thumb drive. This phone retains the 3.5mm audio jack as well. For the sensors, it is packed with all the needed readers, including an accelerometer, a magnetometer, a gyro and a proximity reader. The fingerprint reader is also a part of this smartphone, mounted on the rear. With a more advanced Li-Polymer based cell that makes up the battery, with a capacity of 3400mAh. Li-Polymer cells have a better overall life and also have the ability to be made into a slimmer form factor.

All in all the Honor 10 Lite is an average phone with all the needed features to stay connected; sure given the budget it is a reasonable buy. It is available in a few different colours, allowing the user to pick one they like.
