Starting as a communications network hardware producer Huawei moved into the phone market, it is one of the top 3 producers of smartphones in the world. In the communications network sector as well Huawei is one of the main players, currently working with 45 of the 50 top telcos. The brand is not just imitating others, they have an R&D department that employes nearly half their total workforce, a staggering 76,000 employees. Huawei has 21 R&D institutes around the world. For the smartphone market, they have been producing quality phones at a low cost, beating a lot of other brands at it too. Their flagship phones are at par with the best phones in the world.

Given the huge demand today many companies have built smartphones that are a lot more accessible to the masses. Huawei is one of the brands that caters to many different segments including people who cannot or do not want to spend too much on a mobile phone. This gives them an edge over the market.

With their flagship lines, they have taken on Samsung Galaxy and Apple iPhones. With other lines, they have a dissemination of technology that is helpful for more people. The brand has many various lines that one can check out and pick something based on what their needs are and of course what their budget is.

The main lines by Huawei that are available in Pakistan include the P series, Mate series, the Y series and the Nova series. The higher end of their smartphones is under the Mate and P series, these are the flagship lines. Huawei Mate series is often released first introducing new features and then later those features are improved upon in the P series. The camera is often upgraded in the P series and the Mate series has newer chipsets being tested. These upgrades cross over depending on what is performing better and eventually, these upgrades also make it to the budget lines. The RAM and storage are higher in these series as well.

For the more affordable lot, Huawei has the Y and Nova series. The Y series is the go-to affordable smartphone range. The Nova series is targeting younger ages, especially the Millenials, which is why this smartphone line has more designs that are current with the time or would be considered modern.

Some of the more successful models of Huawei mobile phones include the Y7 Prime, P30 Pro and Mate 20 Pro.

Huawei has retained its market position for a few years now, this speaks to their quality. There is a slight change since Google cut ties with Huawei and they are no longer able to make use of the core part of Google Mobile Services. To counter this Huawei launched their own version of an OS called HarmonyOS. It consists of its own app store along with all the other features Android users are used to.

Price-wise Huawei mobile phones are some of the most competitively priced. The range goes from the bottom all the way to the top, they have models to furnish each segment of the price spectrum. This makes for a way larger market to tap into.
