Kinder Joy by Ferrero

A chocolate treat made by the Italian company Ferrero. It is part of the Kinder line of products that include Kinder Surprise, Kinder Bueno and many more. Ferrero is also the brand responsible for the worlds most favourite chocolate spread, Nutella. Their Ferrero Rocher is a well-known chocolate too and another product that is rarely attributed to them is Tic-Tacs.

Kinder Joy has a plastic shaped egg like packing, which splits into half when opened. One half contains a small toy that may or may not require some assembly. The other half has layers of cocoa and milk cream that can be eaten with a tiny flat spoon which comes included. The Kinder Joy was launched in 2001, in Italy. Today it is sold in more than a 100 countries.

There is an age label on Kinder Joy, as the toy has small parts that kids under 3 years of age may swallow and choke on. The arrival of Kinder Joy does align with the banning of the Kinder Egg in the USA. The law bans any food products that contain non-nutritive objects embedded within them. Kinder Joy circumvents this by having the toy outside the edibles. 

The toys inside can be known characters from culturally relevant stories such as DC's famed Justice League. Kinder Joy is a relatively inexpensive treat.
