Microsoft has many options for 2-in-1 machines that work as laptops and tablets as well. These are very versatile as you can get varied usage out of the same machine. The Surface Go 2 is a snappy device, it comes with a 10.5-inch display featuring PixelSense and has good quality graphics.

Made for schools and businesses the Microsoft Surface Go 2 comes with either the Intel Pentium Gold or the Intel Core m3 which is for the more powerful option. RAM varies between 4GB and 8GB, Storage is based on the SSD format which is more compact, something that lightweight portable devices. SSDs are also faster with information transfer. The available options are either 64, 128 or the top end with 256GB.

There is wireless connectivity and then the porting that allows for physical connectivity. Ports include a headphone/mic jack, USB-C, a microSD card slot, a Surface Connect port and for the models that support LTE a nano-SIM card tray. The Surface Go 2 also has sensors as it works like a tablet, these include an ambient light sensor, an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a compass and NFC.

The Surface Go 2 has a camera on the front and back, with 5MP and 8MP being the resolutions. The speakers feature Dolby Audio Premium so one gets the kind of clarity they need. With Windows running on it, the device has version 10 Home, which can be updated to 10 Pro for a small fee. 

Between the laptop and tablet functions, one gets a lot of usage. This versatility makes it useful as a travel one-in-all device that you can have for multiple uses. If you get the Surface Pen you can also use it to draw on or do design work, although not on the leading softwares that require more power.

Overall the design is great, with a bit of a constraint in space that has caused the keyboard to be a tight fit. It could take some getting used to. The keyboard is sold separately so one needs to add that to their cost evaluation.

Price-wise the Microsoft Surface Go 2 has mid-range options and then the more expensive ones that have more features such as LTE or a better processor.
