Description
Nokia makes use of the Android OS for their smartphones, the Nokia 2.4 has Android 10 which can be upgraded to version 11. A lean system gives this device a neat performance. The form factor is slim and is minimal in design similar to most devices today. The screen has almost all the space but there is a bit of a deeper chin and a notch on top for the selfie camera.
Nokia 2.4 internals and OS
Being a mid-level device the processor in this device is the quad-core Helio P22 from MediaTek, which is produced using the 12nm method. A slightly dated standard given when this device was released but still it gives you ample performance for the budget. Integrated into this is PowerVR GE8320, a graphics processor so the visual load is not on the main processor.
For RAM and storage, this device has options, one can either choose 2GB RAM with 32GB of storage or 3GB RAM with 64GB of storage. In case the storage seems less you can also make use of a microSD card to add on more, with support for up to 400GB.
Running Android on these specs is simple as it is a very clean OS. Version 10 is what the device comes with, but one can upgrade it to version 11. In either case, they both have Machine Learning, a feature that allows it to learn the user's patterns and reflect a more optimised performance.
Cameras and display
The main camera has a dual sensor set up, the primary is a 13MP one with the secondary at 2MP for depth sensing. The selfie camera is a 5MP one. Video can be shot at 720p with a frame rate of 30fps.
For viewing one has a 6.5-inch display, that is near HD with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. This brings the pixel density to 270 pixels per inch. The display is based on IPS LCD technology and makes for decent viewing, especially given the price of this device.
Connectivity, sensors and battery
With this device, one has WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio and Data up to the 4G standard. Physical connectivity is achieved via a MicroUSB 2.0 or the 3.5mm audio jack. There is only an accelerometer and proximity sensor for feedback to the systems. A fingerprint reader is mounted onto the rear for easy access.
Battery capacity in this smartphone is at 4500mAh, which is a lot for a device that is running these specs.
Comments
You can opt for Fjord, Dusk or Charcoal colours when purchasing the Nokia 2.4. The price of this device is in a lower range, making it accessible to a lot more people.
