Notebook Laptop

Some different laptops have terms used for them to specify size or a certain kind of functionality. These terms include 'Notebook'. A Notebook laptop is basically a slightly smaller and more compact machine, this definition though is loose. Brands use the term Notebook for regular-sized laptops as well.

Part of the reason for the name is also how a laptop opens up akin to notebooks that people used to write in, also signifying the compact size.

Features

The overall features are the same as a laptop. The defining differences are the screen size and how thick the laptop is. Notebooks are meant to be substantially thinner than regular laptops. This is fast losing meaning, as today even powerful full-sized machines can be bought that are very slim. The screen size can still define a machine as a Notebook laptop. The screen size has to be 15 inches or under.

So essentially the features that define functionality are the same as laptops. A Notebook, depending on the year of release and specific model, will have powerful specs with the latest chipsets or touch screens and other such modern features.
