Oppo Reno 3

Oppo has been making affordable smartphones for the market, bringing technology to the masses. The brand is also known for releasing new features that it is the pioneer of, the most famous of which is the beauty filter.

The brand has a lot of options in their lower and mid-ranges, giving the average customer more to pick from. This includes the Reno 3 which is also able to handle some gaming.

The Oppo Reno 3 internal specs

A top of the mid-range smartphone from Oppo, packing a processor that is quite capable; the Mediatek MT6779 Helio P90. This ARM chipset is powerful enough to handle most mobile games today. It is combined with 8GB of RAM, this is what allows it to function better. The Storage space is at 128GB and is based around UFS 2.1, a faster data sharing system. All these internal specs work well together to make a fast performing device.

OS

Making use of Google's Android 10 is another reason why the Oppo Reno 3 performs well. This system is designed to learn the user's patterns and then work faster in reflection based on that information. So if you are used to opening WhatsApp after you use Instagram, it will prime Instagram before you even tap the icon; thus making it pop up faster. This base is combined with Oppo's skin layer, that is also known as a user interface, called Color OS 7. This skin layer has more customisation options in comparison with the standard Android OS, such as the option to change the shape of icons.

Display & camera

At 6.4 inches, the screen has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and is based on the AMOLED technology. This pixel count brings the pixels per inch to 411, making for a very crisp HD display. The brightness is also powerful at 430 nits. 

The camera systems are packed full, with the main camera at 48MP shooting images in a slightly wide mode being a 26mm lens. The secondary is a 13MP telephoto lens that has 2x zoom. There is an ultrawide camera that shoots at 13mm which 13MP. The last is 2MP which works as a depth sensor, adding more layers to one's photography. The camera app is full of features as well, especially since Oppo is known for its camera app. The selfie camera is a whopping 44MP and again shoots a bit wide.

Video recording for the main module is either 1260 pixels at 30fps or 1080 pixels at 30 or 60fps. The front camera can shoot 1080 pixels at 30fps.

Sensors, connectivity and battery

For sensors Oppo has made use of the full range for the Reno 3, this includes an accelerometer, a compass, a proximity sensor, a gyro and a fingerprint reader that is embedded into the display. This makes for very convenient unlocking.

Similarly, the connectivity side of things is also packed. The Reno 3 can make use of WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, Radio and has a USB Type-C reversible connector. With the USB On-The-Go function which allows it to work as a dock for thumb drives. It also retains the 3.5mm audio jack.

The Oppo Reno 3 has a 4025mAh capacity battery that is made using Li-Polymer technology. This means it has a better overall life and can also be packed into a slimmer form. There is also the feast charging feature known as VOOC 3.0, the brand claims it can be charge dup to 50% in 20 minutes.
