What the Raspberry Pi 3 is

A literal open chipset computer near the size of a credit card. The Raspberry Pi 3, itself it is just a bare board, all the things need to be bought separately from the power source, monitor, keyboard to the mouse. Using a Micro SD card as its storage and having a wide array of applications in all fields of computing. It runs different Linux based softwares and The Raspberry Pi Foundation gives access to NOOBS, an easy installer that comes with their own primary Linux based OS called 'Raspbian'. It can also run a very stripped-down version of Windows 10 called Windows 10 loT Core, designed so a computer with such less power can handle the load. 

Basic specs

Running on a 1.2 GHz 64-bit quad-core processor, onboard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB boot capabilities. A full-size HDMI port, 4 USB-2 ports, CSI camera port for connecting a Raspberry Pi camera, 40-pin extended GPIO (for expandability), 4 Pole stereo output and composite video port, DSI display port for connecting a Raspberry Pi touchscreen display, 400MHz VideoCore IV for graphics and 1GB RAM.  

How it can be put to use

Widely used to teach kids about computers and for all kinds of random projects like controlling robot arms, home automation and a goldfish that drives a vehicle by swimming in its tank! Some have also used it to run old Nintendo 64 or PlayStation 1 games, there are even tutorials to stack many of these boards together to make a supercomputer. The agility given its size is commendable, the uses endless.

The Raspberry Pi 3 has very little competition, Arduino being one of the other brands at a similar level of ability and versatility. The Pi 3 is available for a nominal price in Pakistan.
