An affordable device from the Realme brand, the C21Y has ample specs for everyday users or for someone who is looking into their first smartphone.

Pros & Cons

  • Affordable

Realme has many options that are in an affordable range, making it easy for more people to have access to smartphones. With ample specs that let you enjoy all the platforms that people use to socialise online, with the messaging and content posting as well.

Realme C21Y

Built with a budget Unisoc T610 processor that was made using the 12nm method and is an octa-core chipset. There is a GPU for visual processing, the Mali G52. This smartphone has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, both of which are ample for basic tasks. In case the storage falls short one can make use of the microSDXC card slot to expand the storage.

The OS Realme has used is Android 11, a system that is Machine Learning able which lets it optimise at a minute level so your usage is as tailor-made for you as possible. Layered onto this is the Realme UI, this is the layer that gives users a lot more customisation options so you can personalise your device to suit your needs and vibe.

With a triple camera setup, the Realme C21Y has multiple shooting modes available to it. The main sensor is a 13MP one with two more that are both at 2MP. One of these works as the depth sensor and the other is for macro shots. The selfie camera is at 5MP, which is basic but is enough to capture decent images. Both sides shoot video at 1080p.

The display is 6.5 inches and has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, which is near HD resolution so one gets a good amount of clarity for their visuals. These specs would allow for some basic mobile gaming but are not ample to take on heavier games.

Users have wireless connectivity other than NFC, and Data is up to 4G standards with DualSIM as well. The charging is done via a microUSB port, this is also the port used to connect to a computer. The C21Y even has the 3.5mm audio jack for headphones or AUX cables. Sensors on this device include an accelerometer, a proximity sensor and a compass. There is also the fingerprint reader mounted onto the rear for quick unlock.

All this is powered by a large 5000mAh cell that can last a full day with ease. It also features reverse charging, so this battery can work as a power bank for other devices that may need power.

The Realme C21Y is a mid-range device and it is available in either Cross Black or Cross Blue. The general design is similar to devices from this era, a slim smartphone with rounded edges and a tiny notch for the selfie camera. This smartphone would be a good choice for someone who is looking for an option that isn't expensive but gets them connected.
