The Realme brand

Realme started with Oppo mobiles and later split, establishing itself independently in 2018 on National Youth Day in China, the 4th of May. Within a short period, it has made space among the top 10 mobile phone sellers in the world selling 4.7 million units in the second quarter of 2019. With a growth of 848% compared to the previous year. 

The XT

The name of the XT would make one think it is a successor of the Realme X, but it is more a step-up of the Realme 5 Pro. The XT is between the 5 Pro and Realme X. Similar in design to the Realme 5 Pro but with a Gorilla Glass 5 back. The build feels premium and the back doesn't pick up fingerprints. With a triple slot for two nano-SIM cards and a microSD card. Also with face unlock abilities.

Internals and OS

Powered by a Snapdragon 710 SoC, with3 variations of RAM and storage available. The variations are 64GB space with either 4 or 6GB RAM or 128GB with 8GB RAM. Running ColorOS 6.0.1 based on the Android 9 Pie platform from Google. The updated skin runs smooth and users have access to the usual hand gestures available with Realme before.

Display 

The screen size is 6.4 inches and is based on the Super AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 3240 pixels. An aspect ratio of 19.5:9, claiming a screen-to-body ratio of 91.9%. The display is at par with other phones available in this range. The colours are good and the viewing angles are also up to the mark. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.

Cameras

One of the main features in the Realme XT is the 64MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor with f/1.8 aperture among the quad-lens camera. Along with that, there is an 8MP wide-angle sensor and portrait and macro lenses. To get images in the 64MP resolution the 'Ultra 64MP' mode has to be enabled, the image size of these shots is pretty big at around 10MB an image. The selfie camera is a 16MP camera with a Sony IMX471 sensor, that works well under most lighting conditions. Video recording has 4K at 30fps, with 1080p HD recording at 30 or 60fps and slow-motion at 960fps. The front and back both have Electronic Image Stabilization helping get stable shots. 

Connectivity and battery

Coming with a USB Type-C port, WiFi and Bluetooth. The battery is a 4000mAh with VOOC 3.0 fast charging support. It comes with a 20W charger. The battery can be charged to 100% within an hour.

Overall a well-performing smartphone with ample power for games like PUBG, available within a mid-range price point.
