The Samsung Galaxy A51

Belonging to the second tear at Samsung, the Galaxy A51 is a mid-range smartphone. Catering to a younger generation who may not be able to afford the flagship models, but can get the next best thing. A large smartphone, with a 6.5-inch display, an attractive body design with the 'prism' design on the back. The FullHD display has a resolution of 1080x2400 pixels and is using Samsung AMOLED technology for the panel. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Internals and OS

Making use of the Exynos 9611 processor that is built using the 10nm method, it is an octa-core processor that is powerful. This combined with 6GB of RAM makes this smartphone quite fast in performance. The storage space that is built into it is 128GB, which can be extended via a dedicated microSD card. That adds up to 1TB of more space, which is a lot of space for a smartphone. For graphics Samsung has added in the Mali-G72, to take some load off the main processor. 

The Galaxy A51 runs Android 10 from Google as its base OS layer, with version 2.0 of Samsung's proprietary skin known as OneUI. Android ahead of version 9 has machine learning, meaning it learns the user's patterns to speed up one's smartphone in a personalised way. The OneUI also adds more customisation options letting one tune their interaction with their smartphone more.

Cameras

The selfie camera is placed inside a pinhole in the display, this is the smallest pinhole Samsung has ever made till now. Despite its size, it is a powerful 32MP camera, taking good pictures. The main camera system has 4 different cameras built into a small squarish camera bump on the back.

The main camera is a 48MP with an aperture of f/2.0. The second is a 13mm ultrawide which is of12MP and this has an aperture of f2.2, taking in more detail. The macro camera is a 5MP at f/2.4 and the last is another 5MP at f/2.2 camera that works as a depth sensor. This diverse camera system provides the Samsung Galaxy A51 with many different shooting options when combined with the camera app. 

Connectivity, sensors and battery

The main porting option is via a USB Type-C. Also retaining the audio jack port that is slowly becoming more a legacy port as we have more wireless connectivity. The other options to connect include Bluetooth, WiFi, radio and NFC. With support for two SIMs, providing more options to connect there too.

The sensor range on the Samsung Galaxy A51 is complete with an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a proximity sensor, a compass and a fingerprint reader. The fingerprint reader is embedded into the screen, making that action neat.

Samsung has packed this smartphone with a powerful 4000mAh battery that is based on the Li-Polymer technology. These batteries have a better overall life and can also be made into a slimmer shape, which helps keep the phone's body slim too. Featuring Fast Charging so the battery can top up quicker.

The Samsung Galaxy A51 is a good smartphone for the price, it feels sturdy and is well designed. With more than ample specs built into it. Belonging to a mid-range price as far as smartphones go.
