The 15-inch Samsung Notebook 9 (2019)

Essentially an enlarged version of the 13-inch notebook the 15 incher is clad in an innovative feather-light metal exterior. This model houses a fast and secure Finger-Print recognition scanner and comes with a dedicated GPU. The downside to this model is that at a true 15-inch size, it is a non-touch laptop and has a lower resolution for its price and size.

Design & Display

Though a great device, the display is one area where this laptop lacks. The LED display is above average with a 1920 x 1080 full HD semi-gloss/anti-reflective panel. It comes with 97% sRGB for colour accuracy and brightness at 350 nits. It is capable of boosting to 500 nits for outdoor mode.

Performance & Platform

15-inch model features the blazing Core i7, 8th Gen Intel Quad-Core processor, providing lightning speed to the users. The processor is still 15W but it comes with good thermals and clocking and is efficient in most of the tasks. The laptop uses a dedicated NVIDIA MX150 GPU and is a good device for gaming as it comes with a dedicated full 25W version of MX150 GPU. 

RAM, Battery & Storage

The RAM is now DDR4 which is a great upgrade as most of the rivalling brands come with the slower DDR3 RAM. This device uses a 16GB DDR4 RAM that is fast and reliable. Storage capacity on the device is 1TB and uses the PM961 hardware. You have the option of upgrading to the even faster PM981 but the default is already a quality storage solution. 15 inch uses a 75 Wh battery that will provide around 19-hour long battery life on a single charge.

The smaller and slightly less capable version of the 15inch model, this laptop is good enough for daily basic requirements of an average user. The only main downside is that it doesn't feature a dedicated GPU.

Design & Display

It shares the same excellent display and design with the other model. It has a backlit keyboard that has ergonomically spaced keys, making long hours of typing comfortable and stress-free. The 13 inch uses a Precision touchpad that features full gesture support. It comes with a durable aluminium body that won't wear with from normal usage. You will find all necessary ports on this device such as USB-C, HDMI, USB-A 3.0, and a microSD card reader. This laptop is compatible with Windows Hello due to its fingerprint reader.

Performance & Platform

The 13-inch model features an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8550U CPU. This sleek laptop doesn't compromise on speed or performance and will get you through a solid workday without any lags. The problem lies with the lack of a dedicated GPU which will rule out some more serious gaming and intensive workloads. The users will have to use the included GPU which isn't very capable at all.

RAM, Battery & Storage

The 13-inch model comes with an 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and a speedy 256GB SSD storage. Sporting a large Hexa-cell 75Wh battery the 13-inch variant has 20-hour battery life.
