Description
SteelSeries
SteelSeries is a brand that caters to the gamer peripheral market. It is a Danish brand that was started in 2001, SteelSeries also supports various top eSport teams and players.
They also have partnerships with other large companies in the gaming industry, including Electronic Arts, MSI, Valve, Gunnar Optiks, Hewlett-Packard and Blizzard Entertainment.
SteelSeries Headphones
The brand itself refers to their headphones as 'headsets' due to their usage being more closely linked to gaming rather than music. The quality of their devices is top tear and of course, can be used for music as well. The name of their range is Arctis; within this label, they have created many variations.
SteelSeries headphones are available in both, wireless and wired formats. The battery time for their wireless options is in the 20-hour range. Giving you a decent amount of listening time and with some models they are a combo of wireless and wired. This gives you the flexibility to switch in case your batter is running out.
The headphones have ClearCast mics that have a laser focus on your mouth so there is no need for digital noise reduction when you talk to your gaming partners. With certain models, this mic is detachable in case you want it out of the way.
To help users be more immersed inside the game atmosphere the SteelSeries headphones support various forms of spatial audio. This creates a great sonic space that you can hear a lot clearer, letting you make out approaching footsteps and engine sounds a lot more precisely.
For people who want even better sound, there are options that have a hi-fi digital to analog converter along with them. This helps create audiophile-grade sound.
SteelSeries also incorporates RGB lights in their headphones, but not all models have them. Also, some are built console specific so connectivity is seamless. This does not mean they work with only one console though. In line with seamlessness, SteelSeries even has a Simultaneous Bluetooth feature which allows you to listen to music while you are listening to your gaming environment as well. This multitasking feature is useful in case one wants to attend calls while they play games too.
As for design, the brand has made them neat and trim without any extra materials. The colour options is mostly black, but there are some models which have white with hints of black or blue. One limited edition option has PUBG inspired art on it. The build incorporates light-weight steel so the headphones are also sturdy and not just nice to look at.
Comments
In the gaming segment of peripherals, the SteelSeries headphones are among the good options, with the brand winning awards for their products. The prices range from the mid-level all the way to the top. This price range fits in with the quality of their products, the sound and the functionality they provide.
