Another brand that caters to the budget-friendly market, Tecno has based its devices on the Android platform. Tecno has a lot of options including the Camon 15.

The brand also has a marketing partnership with the football club Manchester City.

The Tecno Camon 15

Released on the 20th of February 2020, this smartphone from Tecno comes with a 6.6 inch screen which has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, bringing its pixels per inch to 266. This is not the best resolution on the market today but the Camon 15 is a budget end phone that has been built to price, with certain features that are above the class. 

Internal specs and OS

Built with 64GB of storage space that can be extended via a microSD card, adding on another 128GB. With 4GB of RAM to handle the processing tasks. The processor is from MediaTek, namely the MT6762 Helio P22 which is an octa-core processor. For the OS Tecno has made use of the Android 10 system, with a layer of their own user interface on top. This is known as HiOS and the version in the Camon 15 is HiOS 6.0.

An advantage of having Android 10 is its machine learning ability, this helps the software to pick up on the user's patterns and prime itself for faster performance based on that.

Camera systems

This is the winning feature in the Tecno Camon 15. A smartphone at this rate that has a quad-camera setup is not so common. This is also a clear sign of this smartphone having been developed for people who use the famous app TikTok. The primary camera on the back is a 48MP one, with three others, out of which two are at 2MP while one is a QVGA camera. This combination helps with depth perception.

For the selfie shooter, Tecno has made use of a 16MP camera.

Connectivity, sensors and battery

The connectivity range is complete with options for WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, Radio and a MicroUSB port. Sensors include the standard accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass, gyroscope, a proximity sensor and a fingerprint reader. The Tecno Camon 15 also supports face unlock.

Battery power is more than ample with a 5000mAh capacity cell. 

The Tecno Camon 15 is a very budget-friendly smartphone for the features that are packed into it. It is available in multiple colours so one can choose one they like or suits their style.
