Tecno is known for producing smartphones that are affordable, with the Pova they have changed things up somewhat as this is a device with specs that are better than its price class. With a standard form factor as many other smartphones, the Tecno Pova has a rear that has an engraved line pattern on the rear that plays with light.

The Tecno Pova Internals and OS

The processor at the centre of this device is the MediaTek Helio G80, this chipset also features HyperEngine Game Technology. This means it is able to handle games such as PUBG or Fortnite. The graphics processor is the Mali-G52 MC2, an integrated chipset that is energy efficient and also reduces thermal output. This is combined with 6GB of RAM which is quite a bit for a device at this price. Storage is at 128GB and can be extended via a microSD card that can add on another 128GB.

Another feature that keeps the performance of the Tecno Pova snappy is the Android 10 base layer, a system that is Machine Learning able. After the first two or three weeks, it picks up on the user's patterns and then can mirror back enhancements. Over this Tecno has layered HiOS 6.0, a user interface that provides more customisation options and features that simple Android does not come with.

Cameras and Display

The Tecno Pova has a quad lens setup for the main camera, the primary sensor is at 13MP with two 2MP lenses which are for depth sensing and macro shots. The fourth lens is an AI lens for optimising images, this helps with the various shooting modes such as AI beauty, Super night mode, Portrait mode and AI detection.

For selfies, there is an 8MP camera on the front. Video can be shot 1080p with a frame rate of 30fps, meaning decent content can be shot on this smartphone. 

The display this device has is at a large 6.8-inches with a resolution of 720x1640pixels. This is not FullHD but is HD nonetheless, meaning one can enjoy their gaming and streaming well enough. It is an IPS LCD based display meaning that adds to its crispness.

Sensors, Connectivity and Bbattery

Tecno has given the Pova an accelerometer, a compass and a proximity sensor; these all provide important feedback for various operative features. There is also a fingerprint reader that is mounted on the back and this device also has face unlock abilities. Connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio and Data. For physical connectivity, there is a microUSB port and a 3.5mm audio jack as well.

This smartphone has a large battery at 6000mAh, this is more than ample for one's daily usage. It also features Fast Charging so in case the battery does drop one can have it juiced a lot faster than normal.

The price of the Tecno Pova is in the lower mid-ranges, making quite a powerful choice for the price class it is in. There are three different colour options as well, including black, purple and blue.
