Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite

Xiaomi is one of the largest Chinese brands that has taken a large piece of the smartphone market over the last few years. Initially, their devices were in an average range as far as their quality and performance go, over time they have improved a lot. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite is a model that has done well in the market. It packs quite a punch and is good for content creators as well with its camera systems. This device features Dual-SIM making it easy to manage multiple lines or have a designated data SIM.

The design of this device is simple, as is the case with most smartphones.

Internals and OS

Powered by an octa-core processor the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite has the Qualcomm SM7150 Snapdragon 732G that is built using the 8nm method. This is a good chip that has the Adreno 618 which is optimised for gaming, it is considered an upper mid-range chipset. This processor also has improved performance for WiFi.

These chips have 6GB of RAM for task execution and storage of 128GB, with a card slot that can be used to extend the space in case one needs more.

Xiaomi builds its OS on the Android platform and has made use of version 11 for this device. On top of this base layer, there is the MIUI 12, this layer gives users a lot more customisation and features compared to the bare Android OS. MIUI 12 features improved security, a control deck that has a lot of toggle buttons for quick access to features, improved animations and an option for app drawers as well. Aside from this, there is also the Focus Mode so one uses their smartphone less, a file-sharing system that is super and a file manager that is even better than the already great one from before. The dark mode is also a possibility with MIUI 12 and one has options for new fonts too.

Camera and Display

The Mi 11 Lite has higher spec camera systems. For the main camera module on the rear, there is a triple-lens setup. The primary sensor is a 64MP f/1.4 that shoots similar to a 26mm, enabling it to take relatively wide shots as well. The secondary is an 8MP ultrawide that has an aperture of f/2.2. There is also a macro shooter of 5MP f/2.4. This main rear camera can shoot 4K video at 30fps, or even 1080p at a similar frame rate. The 1080p option can also be set to record at 60 or 120fps. There is electronic image stabilisation via the gyro sensor.

For the selfie camera, there is a 16MP sensor o the main side that has an aperture of f/2.5 and shoots 25mm wide shots. This side can shoot video at 1080p with a frame rate of 30fps and 720p at 120fps. This camera is punched into the screen, one can see the small dot.

The visual interaction with your device is handled via the 6.55-inch display. This display is based on AMOLED tech, has 1 billion colours and a resolution of 1080x2400 pixels. The pixel density is at 402 pixels per inch, all this combined makes for a really clear display that gives one a treat when streaming or even while gaming. To keep the display protected there is Corning's Gorilla Glass 5.

Connectivity, Sensors and More

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite has all the connectivity options one would need and then some. There is the option for WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio, NFC, Data and even Infrared. The USB port is a Type-C 2.0 and also features the USB on-the-go system. For the various apps to function there are sensors that include a compass, an accelerometer, a gyro and a proximity sensor. To sense fingerprints for quick access to unlock the device there is a sensor built into the side of the phone.

There isn't an audio jack which means one can only use wireless headphones or earbuds.

The battery built into this device is a 4250mAh capacity one and is based on li-polymer cells. These cells can be made into a slimmer battery, meaning the smartphone's overall form factor is slim too. Fast Charging is also featured so one is able to top up a lot faster.

Comments

This is an upper mid-range smartphone, with ample power for slightly heavier tasks. This makes it a more accessible option for gamers who cannot afford to purchase higher-end smartphones. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite is available in black, pink and blue.
