YBR 125 was launched in 2019 and comes with locally assembled parts, unlike the other iterations that were foreign assembled. This makes the availability of parts easy but downgrades the quality a bit. Motorbikes come in cheaper than cars and apart from the initial cost, they are also easier and cheaper when it comes to maintenance.

Yamaha YBR 125 Z (2020 ) vs YBR 125 G (2019)

Both have the same engines and displacements and give almost the same performance. The two variants only differ in prices and a few design tweaks here and there. The Yamaha YBR 125 Z comes with an all downshift gear pattern. G is better for mountainous routes, suburban terrains or rural areas while the Z is more suited to city commuting and for family travels. G is 126 kg in weight while Z stands at 107 kg. The G has disc brakes and alloy rims which the Z lacks.

That's the reason G is expensive than the Z. YBR 125 G has better design but Z is more suitable for family use and has a better resale value. YBR 125 G comes with 160 mm while Z has 150 mm ground clearance. Both variants give 40 plus average mileage.  Which variant is better for you, depends on your needs and budget.

Design & Body

YBR 125 is a 125 cc road cruiser that has a 4 stroke air cooled single-cylinder engine. The motorcycle's meter showcases RPM, fuel gauge, trip meter, speedometer, tachometer and gear indicator. It was launched in three eyecatching colours in Red, Blue and Black and features a 35w halogen headlight which adds to its beauty. YBR 125 is constructed on backbone type frame and weighs 113 kgs. The rider can choose between Kick and Electric start as the two exclusive options for starting the bike. YBR 125's 4-speed gearbox delivers 10Ps and 10.4Nm of torque. 

Performance & Mileage

Owing to its overhead camshaft engine type, the motorbike gives a smooth and vibration-free ride. It delivers a satisfactory pick and revs up till 4000 RPM. Throttle it past 4000 and it disappointingly remains constant after that. YBR 125 has a compression ratio of 10.0:1, features Wet-Type Multi-plate clutches and a 5-speed transmission. It comes with the fuel tank capacity of 13 litres offering around 40 to 50 Km per litre, which makes for a great mileage within the city or long-distance travels. The motorbike's 13 ltr fuel tank ensures minimum refills so that the riders can enjoy long uninterrupted rides. This city commuter also has a 2-litre reserve tank capacity.

Brakes & Seat

YBR 125 was built while keeping the rider's safety in mind. It features powerful front disc brakes that give a strong and solid bite. Though it features a robust and comfortable seat, it could use better shock absorbers. 

Resale Value & Parts Availability

The locally assembled version has its parts available easily. The foreign assembled variants don't have easily available spare parts and even if they are, they come with high price tags. YBR 125's resale value has increased within a few months of its launch.
