The Zhiyun Crane

Zhiyun is a brand that makes gimbals for cameras and smartphones. The Zhiyun Crane is a gimbal by them that can support cameras up to 1.2Kgs and with a firmware update can handle 1.8Kgs. This weight range is great for mirrorless cameras or smaller DSLRs. Built with brushless motors that are encoded, meaning they are servo motors that have a feedback system integrated for movement plus control. The motors can rotate 360 degrees and are controlled by a toggle like button. It comes in a sleek hard case and is assembled without tools which makes it a tad more convenient.

The Zhiyun Crane ahs 3 shooting modes which include Pan & Follow Mode, Locking Mode and Pan & Tilt Follow Mode. It can be used in the standard (upright) mode and also in the inverted (with the camera underneath) mode. The latter helps with shots close to the ground; one could also attach a small screen via the HDMI port to see better while shooting such shots. Attaching or removing the camera takes a bit of time as it does not have a quick-release plate, but the balancing is fairly quick on this gimbal.
