A bit about JBL

Started by James Bullough Lansing in 1946 and still carrying his initials JBL is an American company that is in the audio manufacturing business. JBL has a range of systems for average users and is a prominent supplier to the tour sound industry with their loudspeakers being employed by touring rock acts and music festivals. JBL products were the basis for the development of THX loudspeaker standard to make sure the sound is being heard as the engineer intended it to be, which resulted in JBL becoming a popular cinema loudspeaker manufacturer. JBL was formerly used in Ford's top-of-the-line vehicle audio systems as well. Currently owned by Harman International Industries, a subsidiary of South Korean company Samsung Electronics.

JBL speakers are available in many sizes and shapes, from the well known tubular ones to the rectangular box-like iteration. With functionality and features that vary from speaker to speaker. JBL has portable Bluetooth speakers that are splashproof so if you are outdoors and it rains or you are by the pool you don't have to worry about ruining your speaker.

There is a version that has a clock and radio built into it with a circular display face at the centre of a larger circle. JBL even has a speaker that is voice-activated if you want to give it commands without having to press buttons on the device itself. This unit has Google Assistant programmed into it so you can just talk to it and let it know what you want to hear or pause or forward. With this same model, Chromecast is incorporated so you can connect to the WiFi and to your Google Home app which lets you access the multi-room feature. Have different songs playing in different rooms from the same device.

There is also a 'PartyBox' which is a portable speaker that is about 2.5 foot in height and has ample sound for a small party. It even has lights integrated into the front for a mini lightshow. JBL designed an around the neck speaker that rests on your shoulders, this is a comfortable speaker for immersive soundscapes without the fatigue of headphones. From car audio to PA systems, JBL has it all.

The JBL headphones segment has options for different kind of users and usages. With options for on-ear headphone, in-ear earphones, wireless headphones and true wireless earbuds; they have it all covered. Within these types they have other variations, such as the ability to answer calls via an in-built mic or water-resistant versions that work well for people who partake in sports. JBL also ha a partnership with Under Armour for some of their sports headphones. Another version that is water-proof is for swimmers and comes with a built-in Mp3 player, adding much convenience while one does their practice laps.

JBL has models that have colour options that include white, black, green, pink, blue, red and more. Different models have different options, not all of them have the full colour gamut available.

Apart from all the regular options for speakers and headphones, JBL works in the loudspeaker market. This includes floor standing speakers or the line array systems. These are also top quality and are used at many concerts, festivals and other such events.

Given the quality of build and sound that JBL products have attained they are from a higher price point. Some of the smaller portable speakers are available for relatively more affordable prices but would cater to only a few people.
