Based out of Hong Kong, Infinix smartphones are designed in France. The brand was started in 2013 and caters to the budget-friendly market.

The Infinix Hot 8 Lite internals and OS

Built with the MediaTek 6580, which is a 1.3GHz Quad-Core processor. This is a decent processor for one's regular tasks and some 2D games but would struggle with heavier 3D games. This is combined with a base level of 2GB RAM and a storage space of 32GB. The storage can be expanded via a microSD card that adds on another 256GB.

For the OS, Infinix has made use of the Android 9 Pie base layer which is a machine learning ready system. This means it can learn the user's patterns and work faster in reflection by predicting the user's next move. On top of this, they have layered their own XOS 5.0 which allows for some more features that the bare Android base does not provide for. This includes a Smart Panel which stores your most used app or favourites for you to access from any screen. Bike Mode which sends a polite message when you are riding and cannot answer. It also has AI reading mode that helps tune the display to make it easier to read. These and a few other such options are part of this OS.

Display and camera

At 6.6 inches the display is a large size. The resolution is 720 x 1600, which brings the pixels per inch to 266. The display is based on the IPS LCD technology and supports multitouch. 

For the cameras on the Infinix Hot 8 Lite, there are two on the rear and a selfie camera as well. The main sensor is an 8MP one along with a QVGA sensor and an LED flash next to it. The Selfie camera is also at 8MP and has an LED flash too.

The camera app supports panorama, HDR, geo-tagging, face detection, exposure compensation and more.

Connectivity, sensors and battery

This smartphone has WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, radio, and support for data as GPRS, Edge 3G and 4G. Porting is handled via a microUSB and it also retains the 3.5mm audio jack. The sensor range includes an accelerometer, a compass, a proximity sensor and a fingerprint reader that is mounted on the rear.

The battery is a Li-Polymer based cell which has a capacity of 5000mAh, which is quite powerful for a phone this size and with these specs.
