Nokia origins

One of the best-known brands, though not a leader anymore. Nokia was on top of the mobile phone market for about 14 years! A Finnish brand that drove the economy in its homeland. Starting in 1865 as a pulp mill and over the years evolved into the tech giant we all came to know.

The comeback

More recently Nokia was acquired by HMD Global. They have changed the direction somewhat and brought Nokia phones onto the Android platform. This move did help, also because the more recent Nokia phones have been of better quality than what they were producing for a good decade or so. 

Phones today

In Pakistan, Nokia has a range that is a mix of their Android-based smartphones and some more simple phones. The simpler phones furnish a huge market that cannot afford smartphones. Also, some of these are revised versions of older Nokia classics. Making them more compatible with the times and including support for WiFi and 4G. Along with some apps like WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter specifically designed for these phones. While still looking like their earlier models, this does add a great retro feel to their line. As for the smartphones they have a range from basic beginning price points all the way near the top. As the prices increase so does the functionality of the phones with better cameras, design, build and sensors.
