A crisp that was started by Procter & Gamble, but today is owned by Kellogg's. It is the fourth most popular snack behind Lay's, Doritos and Cheetos (All three of which are owned by Frito-Lay). Pringles are available in over 140 countries including Pakistan. These chips were invented as a reply to the consumer issue that chips were often broken, stale and the packets had too much air in them. The saddle shape of Pringles is known mathematically as a hyperbolic paraboloid.

Pringles are made from potato-based dough, instead of being sliced like other such snacks. This being the reason why they are not titled as chips but as crisps. The work to develop Pringles was started by chemist Frederic J. Bauer and later completed by Gene Wolfe.

The Pringles flavours

The basic flavours available in Pakistan include Original, Sour Cream & Onion, Salt & Vinegar, Cheddar Cheese and BBQ. Other possible flavours that one can find sometimes, depending on stock, are Hot & Spicy, Peri Peri, Paprika, Texas BBQ Sauce, Ketchup, Pizza and Chutney.

These different flavours have containers of various colours.

As far as snacks go, Pringles are from a more expensive price point. There are options for the regular-sized container and a smaller one which is around a third of the regular container. The container is a tubular one and has the famous moustachioed cartoon character that is a recognizable element of the brands marketing.
