Levis Jeans

Levis is named after a German immigrant named Levis Strauss, who was born in American decades ago. He designed the 'blue jeans' that were further enhanced by Jacob Davis who was a Nevada tailor. Davis used tiny bits of metal called rivets that could hold together the denim so it could endure the strain and stretch of hard labour. Today these rivets are the signature style of Levis placed on pocket corners and to structure the zipper fly design.

Design Evolution

These historically macho blue jean designs were popular amongst the old cowboys, lumberjacks, miners, construction and railroad workers of America. The style quickly became popular among the youth in the 1970s and 1960s through the musical culture of the Woodstock hippie generation and rock n roll band culture. They were durable, strong, reliable, stain-resistant, weatherproof and long-lasting clothing that was affordable.

The more traditional styles in jeans are the Straight and Bootcut leg openings that come in three fits that are Loose, Relaxed and Athletic. Each fitting has unique features that cater to comfort, style and pocket distribution. Each code number describes the overall fit, height of the waist, inseam and structure of the leg. The more modern jeans are Skinny, Slim and Taper that have a blend of Cotton, Polyester, Elastane and Denim giving them a shapewear quality that creates an Advanced Stretch for a customizable fitting.

The fitting for women's jeans depends on the size of the waist, hips, and thighs. There are shaping styles in Super Skinny, Skinny and Slim cuts that are in midrise and highrise waist.
