The flagship screen of the E5 Plus is bigger and better than its previously released iteration the Moto E5. It now has been upgraded to a full 6 inch with the same cinematic aspect ratio of 18:9 aspect ratio that will deliver immersive video watching. The LCD screen has a bright and vibrant visual display that is satisfying and will not disappoint beginner smartphone users.
The same processor is being used in the E5 Plus that was in the E5 as it is strong and fast processing. The Qualcomm MSM8917 has Snapdragon 425 with Quad-core abilities that clock at 1.4 GHz speed. The processor Cortex-A53 CPU has its own dedicated Adreno 308 GPU that can handle HD games downloadable from the Google Play Store.
It has a limited internal memory of only 16GB but there is a second iteration with 32GB. Both these internal storage capacities are limited in today's constant data exchange between social media. It is a good idea to expand the memory by using the micro SD card. The RAM options are 2GB and 3GB, if you want to take on some tasks that require a bit more beef the 3GB would be a better option. The phone performs well for multitasking and some intensive gaming experiences under the right operating system settings.
The camera setup of the E5 Plus will feel underwhelming as both the front and back camera will work best in natural light settings and it is a bonus that the video capture of this device is in 1080p at 30fps which is the standard Full HD resolution.
It only has a single sensor 5-megapixel selfie camera. The dedicated front LED flash will improve the capture capability in low light settings but it will still feel disappointing when users compare it to other smartphone front cameras available in the same price range. There is a second iteration of this model that has an 8-megapixel front camera that will have much better results.
The 12-megapixel rear camera has f/2.0 aperture that is effective in brightening up photographs in low light settings. There is also a rear-facing LED light flash that will improve low light settings but will feel disappointing as with the latest triple setup and double sensor camera phones available in the market, the E5 Plus could have had a better camera set up at the same price point.
The large 5000 mAh battery is an incredible feature of the E5 Plus when compared to other smartphones in the same price range. The previously released E5 had 4000 mAh which is also considered a large batter to have in a smartphone. The Motorola Moto E5 Plus supports fast charging which means the large battery can be quickly brought back to full charge keeping it wireless for longer. This battery will easily be able to handle intensive video streaming, gaming and phone or video calls, delivering uninterrupted power for several hours. It can remain powered on for two to three days on minimal or light usage.
