Description
Tamron Co. Ltd
Tamron is a Japanese brand that produces third party accessories. The brand is known for its lenses which one can use with the known brands such as Canon or Nikon. One has to choose the relevant connectors and a lot of these lenses are comparatively cheaper than what the brands produce themselves.
The Sony Corporation and New Well Co. are the largest stakeholders of Tamron.
One can choose from a wide range of options for their use.
The Tamron 70-30mm f/4-5.6
Another full-frame lens from Tamron, the 70-30mm f/4-5.6 also has a macro shooting option aside from being a telephoto lens. There are few telephoto zoom lenses that have this feature. This lens is available in multiple mounting options for the different brands, including Nikon, Canon, Sony and more.
Auto-focusing is the basic kind; Tamron did not include their Piezo Drive (PZD) or Ultrasonic Silent Drive (USD) which are a lot faster. The build feels a tad flimsy but the price is so much less than the competition that it was built to price, meaning the brand had use lower-quality materials to build it. The image results are good, with resolution being a bit shoddy with some of the macro settings.
Comments
The Tamron 70-30mm f/4-5.6 is a good lens if one has a budget they need to be working within, it has ample result quality and multiple usage settings. The versatility is a silver lining. Available at a nominal price for the fact that it is a telephoto zoom lens that has an option for macro as well.
