In Pakistan, prince coats are quite famous. They are usually worn with shalwar kameez just how a blazer is worn, to add a bit of a formal hint to one's attire. The prince coat is an evolution of the waistcoat that is worn with shalwar kameez. Essentially it is a waistcoat with sleeves. The collar is a band collar with curved corners at the neck.

A prince coat can be made from many different materials such as silk, jamawar or wool. Often the fabric has motifs similar to what one came across in Mughal art, adding in more of an Eastern vibe. It could be a plain one as well or have any number of designs and patterns on it. Similar to a blazer they also tend to have a chest pocket for a pocket-square.
