Razer specialises in producing devices and peripherals for the gamer segment of computer users. The brand has made some of the best-rated laptops.

The naming scheme followed by the brand adds a layer of cool to their devices. Razer uses the names of predatory animals such as snakes, arachnids, felines, insects and marine creatures. This rule does have exceptions with the Razor Blade and Razer Edge, which are named after bladed objects.

The options for peripherals include mouses made for gamers.

As with most gaming peripherals, the design of Razer's mouses is edgy. Some shapes are simple, while others are larger ones with more moulding for the hand to set well. Another element of design that some Razer mouse models have are the RGB Chroma lights, adding another layer of sleek to the look.

The brand has a lot of options and variations, this includes wired and wireless mouses. Certain models are ambidextrous which makes them versatile for use by multiple people, but the brand also produces models specific to the right or left hand.

The buttons vary from model to model, some have fewer while others have a lot. One model even has a number-pad where the thumb goes. Common buttons aside from the two main ones and wheel are the DPI switching buttons. These are used by gamers to adjust the speed of the mouse on the fly. A very useful feature for certain games.

Buttons are programmable as well and with certain models, there is built-in memory to save button customisation profiles. Razer also has the tilt scroll wheel option, this allows one to scroll up and down, and left to right as well.

Due to the kind of work Razer does, they have licenced mouses as well. With the most interesting design being the one that melds the Star Wars Stormtrooper helmet with the mouse body.
