Why get a Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II

Even if you own a pro-level DSLR sometimes you just want something simple that doesn't require its own carry bag and time to assemble. With the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II you can just pick up this all in one solution to shoot good quality pictures and videos. Designed for simple handling with a point & shoot mentality the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II is a compact camera with a built-in lens, flash and a 3" touchscreen LCD. The LCD can tilt many ways including flip up so you can see yourself while you shoot a selfie.

The Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II has a 20.2MP 1-inch BSI-CMOS sensor paired with Canon's latest DIGIC-7 image processor and offers an ISO range of 125-12800, which means it does well in low light conditions so you aren't always in need of the flash which makes images flat often.

The lens has a fast maximum aperture range of F1.8-2.8 and an equivalent focal range of 24-100mm. With a 9-blade curved aperture diagram as well as an ND filter. A compact metal body with a control dial around the lens, a dedicated exposure comp dial on the top and the usual rear dial on the rear making the controls spread out some. Packed with a 4.2x optical zoom which is definitely ample for something this compact, taking care of any specifically zoomed shots you may want to take.

Wifi & battery

This Canon also features Wi-Fi, which lets you quickly send photos from your camera to your phone for posting on social media. Your phone also doubles as a remote control which makes group photos easier to capture with everyone in the frame. The battery time on this camera is a little less with it being able to shoot an average of 265 shots on a single charge but the battery itself isn't too costly or large so you can carry a spare with you.

In the point & shoot category, the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II is on top of the ladder, even without your DSLR on you the advanced settings will cover most of your needs. The price of this camera is high-end, meeting the quality of product and its great results as well.
