Dior Sauvage

Sauvage means wild or savage in French. Dior Sauvage is one of the most expensive perfumes by Dior and is available online at high prices in Pakistan as well as the world over. Sauvage is Dior's answer to the iconic Bleu de Chanel. Though entirely different in notes, they both have the same vibe. Bleu has a somewhat creamy dry-down while Sauvage dries down to a peppery aroma.  

Dior Sauvage Parfum vs Eau de Parfum

Go for the pure parfum version for the best and the purest olfactory pleasure. Parfum is considered to have the highest concentration of oils in a fragrance. This makes it smell stronger and last longer. Dior Sauvage's Eau de parfum is a "watered down" version of the original formula and is a much affordable option than the pure parfum variant. 

Dior Sauvage Eau De Toilette vs Eau de Cologne

For day to day use, Dior Sauvage eau de toilette and cologne are much more economical options but aren't much long-lasting as with every eau de toilette and cologne compositions.

The nose behind Dior Sauvage is the acclaimed perfume creator François Demachy. He is said to have drawn inspiration from the magical twilight hour at the desert. The beauty of the twilight, the dark cool night and the burning desert air combine and exude heavenly scents. That moment when the orange-hued sky seems ablaze, the aura unleashes untamed wild instincts. Wild animals like the wolves come out at that time. With the howling of the wolves and the dark blue sky, a magical mystery unfolds. This is said to be the main theme around which the iconic Dior Sauvage was created.

Notes

Sauvage features an amber wood base that exudes sensual oriental accents.  Loaded with Ambroxan, the perfume is a mix of bergamot aromatic scent with a hint of crowd-pleasing synthetics. The citrusy aroma doesn't completely burn off but gradually dries down to a woody and leathery masculine fragrance. Sauvage uses spicy and sensual notes of Calabrian Bergamot mixed with a woody trail of Ambroxan and Vanilla absolute from Papua New Guinea. 

Sillage, Longevity & Projection

Dior Sauvage is often compared to Dior Fahrenheit and Eau Sauvage in terms of longevity and sillage. Though it varies from skin to skin but in general comparison, the best scent is that of Dior Sauvage while Fahrenheit takes the lead in sillage and longevity. Eau Sauvage has better projection out of the three.
