The Dell Precision M4500

With a 15.6 inch display that is LED-based and has 100 per cent AdobeĀ® Color Gamuts. IT is powered by NVIDIA graphics cards, with either the Quadro FX 880M or Quadro FX 1800M both of which have their own dedicated RAM as well. These work well for artists who work with 3D or CAD.

The main processor is either the Intel Core i5, i7 or the i7 Quad Extreme. All of these perform well with the i7 Quad Extreme naturally being the most powerful one. RAM can be from 4GB to 16GB with the Dual Channel GDDR3 option.

Storage for machines like this is a bigger concern, this is why the Precision M4500 has support for 2 drives. One is the HDD variant and the other is an SSD. Most of the Dell Precision M4500 machines come with Windows 7 Professional. Some machines come blank in case one wants to use Linux instead.

One gets a lot of ports, these include USBs of various standards, FireWire, VGA DisplayPort, RJ45, audio and eSATA. Aside from this, there is also Bluetooth and WiFi for wireless connectivity. The Precision M4500 also has a webcam for your video call needs and speakers for you to make use of for your media. The mic array allows for clarity of voice when you are video calling.

The battery on this laptop can last from 5 hours at the top end to 1 hour if you are running it at full processor capacity with the display brightness at max as well.

This device has also been given an optical drive as it is commonly used for people doing design work.

The Dell Precision M4500 is a powerhouse that would work well for people with serious processing needs. It is a dated device now, so there may be some compatibility with newer software that you need to check if you are looking into it.
