Dunhill Edition
Released in 1984, this is an aromatic cologne that has a Fougere feel to it as well, making it relatively lighter than a lot of the musky and woody options that are common for men. This is not to say it lacks warmth.
The top notes open up with Amalfi lemon, bergamot, lavender and nutmeg. This gives it the citrus cut, a smoothness from lavender and some spice with nutmeg. At the heart, we find clary sage, jasmine, carnation, geranium, cyclamen and lily of the valley. These are all softer notes that add the aromatics one associates with Dunhill Edition.
With the base layer, there is a lot more fullness, adding in warmth. The base layer includes fir, vetiver, oakmoss, Virginia cedar, amber and tonka bean. The fir adds more aroma as well as a sweet balsamic and spice. The rest of the base notes help ground the upper layers with their warmer tones.
Overall, Dunhill Edition is a good mix, with a balance of all the various notes. It gives the wearer a lighter feel but does tail off with some of the warmer woody and musky notes.
