PC games can also be used on gaming laptops. PC games come on CDs and are installed using the optical drive, although some modern games can be downloaded directly on the computer.

The main genres include adventure, real-time strategy, shooting, racing, role-playing, simulation and sports, fighting and puzzles. Within these genres, there are many sub-genres or other labels which have a similar feel and could fit into one of these main genres.

A lot of games can also be played over the internet or even on a local network. This gives the multiplayer option a whole other level of accessibility.

There are certain titles in gaming that have been successful as a franchise, they have produced new games for decades even. The most well-known ones include Call of Duty, Assasin's Creed, Grand Theft Auto, Doom, World of Warcraft, Metal Slug, Age of Empires, Tomb Raider, Tekken, Street Fighter and Hitman.

The other famous games include Red Dead Redemption 2, Marvel vs. Capcom, Batman: Arkham City, Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition, Far Cry Primal and The Witcher 3.

One can find a lot of games to play on the PC as there is an endless number of new releases and studios that make these games.

Every PC game has its requirements regarding the computer specs it needs to be able to perform well, some games are very processor-heavy and cannot be played without a powerful PC. All games also have ratings for the different ages based on the content they contain.

The price of PC games is in the lower to mid ranges, depending on the specific game and its year of release.
