Though not as advanced as the Y9 Prime 2019, the Y9 is good enough to cater to a common person's daily requirements. In comparison, Y9 Prime 2019 has a 1.38% bigger screen size and excellent cameras. It is also more expensive than Y9.

Display & Design

Sporting a huge display with a 6.5″ IPS Full HD+  resolution panel, the Huawei Y9 2019 is made for multimedia consumption and gaming. Watching movies and playing games on Huawei Y9 2019 is a treat because of its massive display, though the bezels on the screen are a bit on the thick side, making it look unwieldy. The phone accepts a Nano-SIM and offers the option of Dual SIM and Dual Standby.

Performance & Platform

It runs on an Android 8.1 (Oreo) operating system and a HiSilicon Kirin 710 processor with an Octa-core CPU. Multitasking and switching between apps in this phone is a breeze, thanks to its fast and efficient processing. 

Cameras

Huawei has a trend of cramming 4 cameras in its smartphones and the Y9 2019 is no exception to this tradition. It houses dual front and back cameras, with the camera app similar to that of other Huawei phones. The rear camera setup includes a 16 MP main camera with an aperture of f/2.0, PDAF and a second 2 MP snapper with an f/2.4 aperture and depth-sensing module. For selfies, the front of the phone houses a 13 MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2 MP f/2.4 lens for portrait mode shots.

Storage, Battery & RAM

The phone packs a huge 4,000 mAh battery unit but no fast charging. Just like all other Huwaei phones, Y9 has an all-day battery perfect for power users, thanks to the software optimizations in these phones. Y9 2019 has a 3GB/4GB/6GB RAM and an internal storage capacity of 64/128 GB, that can be expanded up to 400GB via a microSD card slot. 

Connectivity & Sensors

Special features include its sensors such as Fingerprint sensor, Proximity, Ambient light, Digital compass, Gravity and Gyroscope sensors. The phone comes with wireless connectivity options including WIFI, GPS and Bluetooth but lacks NFC.
