2019 iPad

The seventh-generation was released in September 2019 and is the first entry-level iPad to feature a bigger 10.2-inch display size. It is targeted towards the budget and educational markets. Featuring a 10.2-inch Retina display, the device is powered by an Apple A10 Fusion processor and is the successor to the 9.7-inch 2018 model. This variant features support for the first-generation Apple Pencil and comes with a smart keyboard connector. 

2019 iPad Air 

The third-generation Air was announced in March 2019. A cross between the Air 2 and the 10.5-inch Pro, the 2019 model features the Apple A12 Bionic chip. It comes with a 64 or 256 GB storage and an upgraded 10.5-inch Retina Display with support for Apple Pencil. Equipped with Bluetooth 5.0, the device has a faster memory i.e. LPDDR4X instead of the LPDDR3 that belongs to the Air 2. 

2019 iPad Mini

The Mini 5 was launched in March 2019, with the same design and features as the Mini 4. It features the Apple A12 Bionic chip and an upgraded 3GB of LPDDR4X RAM same as the iPhone XR, Storage options include 64 and 256GB and the device is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0. The display on the Mini is a more modernly upgraded 7.9-inch Retina Display that supports Apple Pencil and True Tone display.

History

Apple has released multiple versions since the launch of the first iPad device. Each version is further categorized into multiple generations, ensuring innovative features and new specifications with every release. The first model that was launched in 2010 featured a 9.7-inch display. In 2012 Apple launched a more compact version called the Mini that sported a 7.8-inch screen size. Next year saw the release of a thinner and lighter version known as the Air. After two years of hiatus, in 2015 Pro was released as the most powerful and capable version of the iPad yet. Pro devices are available in 9.7-inch or 12.9-inch displays.
