Design & Display

It features a compact, light, and portable design. It weighs only 304 g, making for a perfect on-the-go companion. The screen is a 7.9-inch Retina display that has a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels,  a pixel density of 324 ppi and a screen to body ratio of 70.6%. It is protected by a scratch-resistant glass with oleophobic coating. 

Operating System

Apple iPad Mini 4 is a portable and pocketable computing device from Apple and it became the first device to come with a pre-installed iOS 9 operating system.

Multitasking & Faster Processor

Equipped with an additional 1 GB RAM, the device is fully capable of handling multitasking operations such as Slide Over, Split View and Picture in Picture functions. The iPad Mini 4 is faster as compared to the previous iteration; the iPad Mini 3 and sports a dual-core 1.5 GHz Typhoon, A8 processor.

Gaming & Battery

Games are backed by a PowerVR GX6450 (quad-core graphics) GPU. The Apple iPad Mini 4 comes with a 2GB RAM and is packed with a slightly smaller battery compared to the earlier versions. Despite the smaller battery, it has the same runtime of 10 hours as its predecessors.

Cameras & Internal Storage 

The rear primary camera on the is an 8 MP, 32mm lens with an aperture of f/2.4. It allows for HDR shootings and can take up to 1080p videos at the rate of 30 frames per second. The front selfie camera is a 1.2 MP, 31mm lens with an aperture of f/2.2. It was initially available in 16, 32, 64 or 128 GB storage capacities. In March 2017, all versions of the Mini 4 were discontinued except the 128 GB variant. 

Apple Pay

You can also make mobile payments via Apple Pay on iPad Mini 4, in combination with the Touch ID sensor. This process has to be done inside apps since there is no NFC antenna on the Apple iPad Mini 4 that is required for merchant terminal payments.

Sensors & Connectivity Features

The Mini 4 accepts a nano-SIM card or an electronic SIM (eSIM) card. It is equipped with connectivity features like WIFI, Bluetooth, GPS and USB 2.0 proprietary reversible connector. It supports sensors such as Fingerprint (front-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, compass, barometer and Siri natural language commands and dictation sensors.
