Huawei Mediapad M3

Huawei produces portable devices based on the Android OS, their newer models will have another OS but devices such as the MediaPad M3 run on Android still. There are three sizes when it comes to the MediaPad M3; there is an 8.0-inch display, 8.4 inches and the largest is the 10.1 inch one.

The design of these tablets is essentially similar to a smartphone, with a different size and aspect ratio. There are wider bezels than a smartphone, but the finish is similar as well. One can find them in silver or gold; giving you the option to choose the colour you like. This colour is only on the rear, the front has a white bezel on both options.

The MediaPad M3 and variations

The main processor for two of these size options is the Snapdragon 435 and the third, the 8.4-inch version runs on a Kirin 950. With Snapdragon the GPU is the Adreno 505 and with the Kirin, it is the Mali -T880 MP4.

Huawei has used the Android 7 Nougat and EMUI 5.1 for the 8.0 and 10.1-inch versions, with the 8.4 it is Android 6 Marshmallow along with EMUI 4.1.

The display resolution is the same for the 8.0 and 10.1-inch ones as well at 1200 x 1920pixels. The 8.4-inch version has a higher resolution of 1600 x 2560pixels.

Interestingly, the cameras on all the devices are the same; front and back. With an 8MP lens on the rear and an 8MP on the front as well. All these versions of the Huawei MediaPad M3 can shoot video at 1080 with a frame rate of 30fps. These cameras also make for decent video calls, which are one of the common uses of tablets.

There are variations in RAM and storage as well, one can choose based on the specs they need as well as their budget as it changes based on what device you choose. All of them feature a microSDXC slot so more storage can be added on if needed. Connectivity, in general, is the same, with all of them having WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. Sensors vary some but the one's present in all of them include accelerometers and proximity detectors. Others could be a gyro, a compass and possibly a fingerprint reader as well.

Porting is also similar to a MicroUSB port that all of these devices use to connect to a PC or to charge as well.

Huawei makes more affordable tablets, and the MediaPad M3 range is available at a mid-price point. All the versions also feature the ability to have a SIM inserted, letting one connect to Data on the go; making them truly convenient devices while one is mobile.
